Compression · the real thing

Make the world a better place
through Middle-Out compression.

Drop a file — it’s compressed and restored on the box, losslessly, by a GPU named Anton. It even shrinks JPEGs that zip can’t touch. Nothing runs in your browser. How does Anton score against the standard? That’s the Weissman Test.

Compressed on the box — no Hooli, no Box, no cloud.

Compress on Anton

Anton picks the best of real lossless codecs per file: a long‑range LZ + BWT compressor that matches 7z on text (~8× on redundant data) at a fraction of the time, JPEG recompression (shrinks already‑compressed JPEGs ~11% — where zip/LZMA get 0%), a GPU numeric path for float fields, and a raw floor. You get a lossless .pips back — CRC32‑checked, never worse than raw.

Data typeAny file (JPEG / text / binary) → bytes. Scientific arrays → float.
Drop a file, or click to browseCompressed on the box. Up to 64 MB compresses whole‑file (full LZ window); bigger streams in chunks.

Decompress with Piper

Drop a .pips Anton produced — it’s decoded on the box, CRC32‑verified, and handed back bit‑for‑bit identical to the original.

Drop a .pips here, or click to browseAnton’s container — restored exactly, or rejected if corrupt.

The score that started it all

How fast is Anton, really? Take the Weissman Test.

One file, scored on ratio × speed against the gzip standard. Anton (Pied Piper) and Hooli (Nucleus) each earn a Weissman score — beat 1.00 and you’ve beaten the standard. Everything runs on the server, so the numbers don’t depend on your laptop.
